22 Carat or 24K — Which One Should You Pick
People assume 24K wins by default because it's purer. It's not that simple once you're talking about something as small and fiddly as a rakhi.
22 carat (916 hallmark)
About 8.4% of it is alloy, and that alloy is exactly what makes it hold up. A rakhi gets tied, untied, sometimes tugged a little when the thread is being knotted. If there's fine detailing, a clasp, or a hanging charm, 22KT is what survives that without bending out of shape. This is what we point most customers toward, and honestly it's also the karat most Indian buyers already trust, since it's what most of their existing gold is made in.
24K gold rakhi
This is 99.9% pure, which also makes it soft. Genuinely soft — it scratches if you look at it wrong. It works fine as a flat coin-style rakhi or a very plain, minimal pendant with no fine structural work involved. If higher purity is your priority over intricate design, a simple 24Kt piece may be a suitable choice. For detailed designs, chains or clasps, 22Kt & 18Kt may be more suitable because it is generally more durable.

Mini pendant rakhi
A small gold pendant, floral or Om or swastik, tied onto a decorative thread or sometimes a thin gold chain. Still our most popular format by far, mainly because it converts so easily into a regular pendant afterward.
Bracelet-style rakhi
A slim gold bracelet or kada, with the rakhi element woven in near the clasp. Good for brothers who'd rather wear something on the wrist through the year, not just for the day.
Lumba-style rakhi
Traditionally this was for the sister-in-law, but we're seeing more sisters pick it for brothers too now, small hanging gold beads or a little charm, a bit more elaborate without adding real weight.

Think of this less like buying jewellery and more like buying him a gift, the way you normally would.
Does he already wear a chain or a bracelet? Pick a rakhi charm that can move onto that same piece later. Solves the "now what do I do with this" question before it even comes up.
